Neart Na Gaoithe Windfarm (Dunbar, Scotland)

Delivery of project works associated with the provision of 2no 220kV 12km long circuits from the landfall transition joint bay to the new substation at Crystal Rig windfarm and works associated with the 400kv interconnector circuit between the new Crystal Rig substation and SPEN’s existing Crystal Rig substation. Thes works consisted of:

• Soil stripping of the 12km long easement.
• Installation of 24 km of trefoil EHV ducting with associated fibre cable ducting.
• Connections/tie ins into 13no horizontal directional drill sections.
• Construction and backfill of 9no concrete based double 220kV joint bays.
• Provision of earthing for all joint bays
• Provision of link box and fibre box chambers at each joint bay.
• Provision of 10km of access track and removal and recycling of materials on completion of the works.
• Removal of all joint bay and main compound hard standings.
• Reinstatement of soils, fencing and grass reseeding along the entire 12km easement on completion of works.

• Cable Duct Proving
